Description

This outstanding piece of Delaware County history, a covered wagon chest, rode on Michael Gross’ covered wagon when he brought his family from Pennsylvania to Troy Township, Delaware County, Ohio in 1821.  It is to be viewed in the Meeker Homestead Museum. This chest was one of two long chests which were on each side of the covered wagon.  In the chests were feather beds which were taken out and placed on top of chests for the children as beds.
