The map is more than a street map, it is a pictorial map showing many buildings with images of the structure. The railroad lines passing through Delaware are also shown with trestles illustrated. The cartographer/artist walks the streets of the city taking notes and sketches. Then, in the studio, this “bird’s-eye view” of the city is created artistically.
